Middleware's latest updates: new integrations with GCP, Heroku, and SSO, the Data Pipeline and Ingestion Control feature, and QueryGenie for an enhanced search experience.

We’re constantly evolving based on customer feedback and are excited to share the progress we’ve made over the past month!

We’ve introduced new integrations with GCP, Heroku, and SSO. We also launched the much-anticipated Data Pipeline and Ingestion Control feature, along with QueryGenie, designed to improve your search experience.

See below for more details.

Product Features

  • Ingestion Control and Data Pipeline
    • Now you can control the data you ingest into Middleware.
      • Logs: Create pipeline rules to exclude specific logs based on any log attributes.
      • Metrics: Choose which metrics to collect or drop by toggling them on or off. In the metrics pipeline, you can search for any metric, view its data size, and decide whether to enable or disable it.
      • RUM (Real User Monitoring): Exclude specific sessions or spans by selecting attributes for front-end monitoring.
  • Natural Language Search for Logs and APM
    • Searching logs and traces is now effortless. Simply type in natural language, and QueryGenie will return relevant logs and traces.
  •  SSO Integration
    • Login seamlessly with SSO via our integration with OKTA. Middleware is now a certified integration partner on the OKTA marketplace.
  • MacOS Agent
  • Heroku Integration
    • The Heroku Buildpack for Middleware enables you to install and run the Middleware Agent on a Heroku Dyno, facilitating metric and trace data processing and export.
  • GCP Integration
    • Middleware now supports multiple GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud API, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Redis, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, and Kubernetes Engine. Read more about the GCP integration here.

Improvements

  • Vercel Integration
    • We’ve enhanced Vercel integration with support for firewall log drains.
    • You can now control which logs to collect by selecting specific sources and environments.
Vercel Integration
  • Kubernetes Monitoring
    • Additional data and metrics have been added to make monitoring Kubernetes performance easier and more effective.
  • UI Improvements
    • APM: New views for flame graphs, waterfall visualizations, and service maps to enhance span and trace analysis.
  • Metrics
    • Metrics collection interval has been updated to 15 seconds.
    • Middleware now accepts metrics data with DeltaTemporality.
    • Added metrics collection support for AWS Kafka (AWS MSK).
  • On-Prem Synthetic Tests
    • Select the host from which you want to run synthetic checks for more control over testing environments.
